Australian AI startup Keeyu to help eCommerce retailers prevent order chaos ahead of Black Friday
Australian Artificial Intelligence (AI) startup Keeyu is redefining e-commerce operations with its proactive AI Agent, helping major retailers prepare for peak periods like Black Friday and Christmas by monitoring the entire order journey —from payment and fulfilment to delivery and returns —and preventing issues before customers complain.
Launched in 2024 by leaders from P.E Nation, Sportscraft, SurfStitch, and Mastercard, Keeyu was created after its founders experienced firsthand how disconnected systems, delayed insights, and reactive customer service were holding retail teams back. They set out to create a new category of proactive e-commerce operations to fix the problem at its source.
Built by retailers for retailers, Keeyu orchestrates the entire order journey, detecting problems in real time so teams can act before they turn into costly service issues.
During the 2024 holiday season, Australia Post delivered more than 103 million parcels, and many brands struggled to keep up. Late deliveries and stockouts went viral on social media, eroding customer trust at the very moment retailers were trying to build loyalty.
What should be a golden opportunity to boost revenue often results in lost sales, churn, and overwhelmed service teams. Industry studies show that nearly half of customers don’t return after a poor delivery experience.
Keeyu CEO and Co-Founder Jevon Le Roux said retailers have been stuck in reactive mode for years, waiting for customers to complain before fixing problems.
“We built Keeyu to change that, so shoppers get what they want, on time, as promised.”
Following strong traction and market demand, Keeyu recently raised $2.3 million to accelerate growth. The round was led by Rampersand, with participation from Archangel, Startmate, Empress Capital, Exhort Ventures, Sydney Angels, Southern Angels, and prominent angels Jason Wyatt (Marketplacer), Alexey Mitko (Eucalyptus), Paul Greenberg (DealsDirect, early advisor to Afterpay), and Luigi Iacullo (early Canva investor). The company is also a finalist in the SXSW Sydney Pitch 2025 (Future of Retail & Commerce).
Traditional helpdesks and generic chatbots exist to manage complaints. Keeyu exists to prevent them. It connects every e-commerce system into one platform, monitoring each order in real time to detect problems like failed payments, delays, or stockouts, and now automatically fixes them.
Phase 2: From Detection to Automation
The next phase of Keeyu’s AI Agent, now in beta and rolling out publicly in October 2025, introduces automated issue resolution. The Agent will not only detect problems but also automatically fix predictable ones, such as failed payments, delivery delays, lost-in-transit parcels, stockouts, and unfulfilled orders.
Since launching in July ‘24, Keeyu’s AI Agent has been adopted by 15 retailers across 25 brands, including Decjuba, Rebel Sport NZ, Camilla, EHP Labs, Clutch Glue, and Budgy Smuggler.
Blackbird-backed Clutch Glue Founder and CEO Annabel Hay said that Keeyu is solving a huge problem.
“Keeyu is an absolute game-changer for FMCG businesses. It identifies issues before customers even notice them, allowing us to stay ahead and deliver the best possible service. In just one snapshot, it can uncover insights that would normally take multiple full-time team members an entire day to produce. It’s become a critical part of our operations, solving a real challenge that businesses of all sizes (whether small, rapidly scaling, or well-established) have been facing.”
Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer Tracy Godtschalk said Keeyu’s vision is to make proactive operations the new standard in retail.
“Teams shouldn’t be chasing tickets. They should have the silence that comes when everything works.”
Proven results
Retailers using Keeyu’s platform report up to 90 per cent fewer WISMO (“Where is my order?”) tickets, a 50 per cent reduction in manual workload across CX and operations teams, and a 9 per cent lift in customer retention, delivering between 10x and 20x ROI during peak trading periods.
Keeyu’s rapid setup allows retailers to go live in under a week, integrating with leading platforms such as Shopify, ERPs, WMS, 3PLs, carriers, and returns tools without disrupting existing workflows.
